This is so funny that it is hardly true. However, I’m going to refrain from all personal comments & simply report it straight:
Tubingen University, Germany, has a stone statue of a Vagina positioned outside of it’s Institute of Microbiology and Virology since 2001 (who knew?). Following that piece of information, almost everything else in this story is a foregone conclusion. Nevertheless, the statue is said to weigh more than 30 tonnes, and to be valued at more than 120,000 euros (currently £96,000). It was made by Peruvian artist Fernando de la Jara; he called it “Pi-Chacan” (which is said to be Peruvian Indian for “make love” (who knew?)).
Now we come to the predictable stuff. The chap attempting to impersonate Arthur’s sword is an American exchange student. The reason that he climbed into the statue was “as part of a dare”.
The news reports declare that it took five emergency service vehicles and 22 firemen to help free the man. So children, make a careful note:- no matter how tempting the orifice may be, unless you want to look like a complete prat in front of your local Fire Brigade, plus add a substantial sum to your University costs, just stay out of it.
