There are now upto 1,000 people at a time digging for gold on the Folkestone beach, including with metal detectors, and also at night with torches on their foreheads.
Yesterday (Friday) Kevin Wood, his partner Kirsty Henderson and her sister Megan (r to l, above) became the first people confirmed to have found a £500 GBP gold bar. They spent just an hour digging at low tide. After finding the gold bar they immediately left the beach & set off for their home in Canterbury, but halfway home had to pull over & stop for a drink.
Digging continues at the beach.
