Welcome to my first post having ditched Windows XP & installed Debian 6.0

USS John Warner

A Dolphin is the symbol of the U.S. Navy’s submarine force. Personally, I think that someone paid this one to be photographed like this (other papers said that there were a pod of them, but only one appears in any photo). Anyway, who cares? It’s a terrific sight.

The submarine is 450 Feet (137m) long & displaces 7,800 ton (7 million kg) and has has 40 missiles on board, in addition to torpedo tubes, etc.. It cost $2.65B ($2,650 million).

The sub has now completed all sea-trials & will be brought into service later this month as “the most advanced submarine on the planet”.
