Found in the Garden 30 years ago & recently valued at £15,000 GBP ($23,000 USD)

The Antiques Roadshow was recently at Bolsover Castle (a beautiful old building north of where I live). Ronnie Archer-Morgan (one of their experts) was astonished to discover a mother & daughter bringing a ‘hei-tiki’ pendant, a Maori jade pendant from the 17th Century (the lady's house also dates from that time).

The mother was weeding her garden 30 years ago when she discovered a cloth bag in the ground. Inside she discovered the pendant. 20 years ago she gave it to her daughter. The expert was astonished at the quality & both women were blown away at the valuation.
